There are many types of tenancy agreement and choosing the correct one is imperative. Use the wrong tenancy agreement and you may find that you have big problems should you need to go to court. No need to panic though there are a few easy steps to follow that will ensure that you have the right tenancy agreement.
The most common form of agreement is an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement. This can be used where:
- The rent is less than £25,000 a year or £2083 per month or £480 per week;
- and the property is being used as a tenant's main residence i.e. the tenant is not on holiday;
- and the landlord is not sharing any of the facilities;
- and the property is located in England or Wales;
Please note that we have over 20 years in the lettings industry and we ensure that all our tenancy agreements are drawn up in line with the latest legal requirements by our solicitors. There are cheaper versions, indeed there are free versions but we pride ourselves on offering value for money and professional agreements that are re-usable.
